We are now looking for someone who has an ongoing or completed education in natural sciences/engineering for a summer job in quality control at Billerud. The period we are looking for summer interns is from May to August, with training taking place in May. Start and end dates can be adjusted according to any studies.

We are looking for an employee who will work 2-shift, which means that work will occur in the mornings and afternoons, both on weekdays and weekends.

Job Description

As a Laboratory Technician, you will work with analyzing samples in the form of pulp, chemicals, paper, and cardboard. The analyses are performed using both manual and automated measuring instruments.

The measurement methods used ensure quality for the end customer and provide measurement results for our internal needs to other departments. Your contributions as a laboratory technician will help guide and optimize the manufacturing process.

You will, for example:

  • Perform ongoing quality analyses of pulp and chemicals as well as the end products paper/cardboard according to routine.
  • Carry out calibration and control of measuring instruments.
  • Cut and archive roll samples for daily retesting and our sample archive.
  • Prepare customer samples.

The analysis results are used for ongoing monitoring of the process, follow-up of quality outcomes, and as a basis for quality certificates for our external customers. You will collaborate with other laboratory technicians in the department as well as with operational staff, quality, and process engineers.

Qualifications

  • Completed secondary education with passing grades in natural sciences or engineering
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
  • Good computer skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Experience with cardboard testing

It is advantageous if you:

  • Have an ongoing technical education at the college or university level
  • Have experience working or interning in the manufacturing industry

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, responsible, and analytical, with a clear focus on safety. To succeed in this role, you need to be able to absorb information quickly and familiarize yourself with our analysis methods in a relatively short time. You should be able to collaborate easily with different people and work both individually and in groups under various conditions.
